Our Story: A Legacy of Quality
Mt. Angel Meat Co. began on June 1, 1908, and was incorporated in 1970. In 1999, Eric Fietz purchased the business, carrying on skills learned from his step-father, Joe Blain—a WWII Navy veteran who started processing meat in his garage. Joe later opened Blain’s Sundown Meat in the 1980s, and after joining Mt. Angel Meat Co., he worked until age 88, retiring after 13 years. Because of this rich history, we’ve honed our craft for over a century. Today, Eric teaches his son Glenn, ensuring our legacy as a family butcher shipped nationwide lives on for generations.
